01- What is Wireless Internet?
Wireless Internet is a form of Internet connection without wires. Data is sent and recieved via radio waves between your computer and our servers. It doesn't require a phone line, nor any hardline connection. It's faster than dial-up and DSL, but without the insecurity of a static IP.

02- Why should I choose Wireless Internet?
Wireless is a stable, high-speed Internet connection access to areas where other broadband options may not be viable. Wireless connection offers a non-static IP address, where as DSL offers a static IP address that is more vulnerable to attacks and viruses.

03- Is Wireless availible in my area?
Wireless technology utilizes line-of-sight to send and recieve data. In downtown Morton if you can see the antenna on top of the TMT building, then there's a good chance we can set-up Wireless Internet for you.

Give us a call at 1.360.496.6161 in the Morton area, or in Mossyrock 1.360.985.0240 and we'd be happy to answer your questions and see if you'd be able to get Wireless in your area.

04- How fast is Wireless Internet?
Very Fast. Optimal Wireless Internet speed is 4.5 MB per second.

06- Can I keep my current TMT username and email address?
Absolutely! You won't have to worry about remembering a new username or new email address, nor will all of your friends and family have to update their address books with a new email address. Zero hassle!

07- How long does it take to set-up my Wireless Internet?
On average it'll take us an hour to set-up your Wireless connection. However, you need to submit your application for Wireless service to TMT, a TMT technician must confirm the quality of the line-of-sight to our antenna, and schedule an appointment for the TMT technician to come out for the set-up.

08- If I move can I still retain my connection to TMT's Wireless Internet?
If your new residence still has line-of-sight to our access point, then you certainly can stay connected to our wireless network. Although you'll likely need a TMT technician come out to take down the equipment from your previous residnce and reinstall it at your new premesis.

09- Do I need to worry about security with a wireless connection?
Absolutely. Whenever you're connected to the Internet there's always the potential for a breach of your computer's security. No matter what connection speed or Internet Service Provider (ISP) you have, there will always be a risk that your machine could be compromised.

That said, you should be all the more cautious when you have a high speed connection such as wireless.

    The reasons for concern are:
  • Your Internet connection is high speed
  • If you're connected 24/7 your chances increase
If your computer is left unprotected then your chances of a security breach increase. Tiger Mountain Technologies highly recomends you use and update an anti-virus program in combination with a firewall at the very least.

Please note that the security of your computer/network is at all times your responsibility. Please be sure to use your computer's Windows Update feature to keep your Operating System (OS) secure, and keep your anti-virus program updated.

10- Is providing security measures for my computer/network critical?
Yes! Without proper security measures you're leaving your computer vulnerable for system damage from viruses, worms, trojans, and/or hackers; as well as anyone could view your saved data. It's relatively easy for home users to secure their system, but corporations should consult an IT professional.
